As backpacks are filled, school buses begin rolling, and hallways once again echo with the voices of children, another exciting season is beginning—the start of Good News Club®!
We are committed to all 107 public schools in Greenville, Pickens, Anderson and Oconee having a Good News Club. Every new school year brings fresh opportunities to reach boys and girls with the hope of the Gospel. This August, we are celebrating one especially exciting answer to prayer.
For the very first time, Oak Hill Elementary School will open its doors to students. Even more exciting, when those doors open, a Good News Club will already be ready to welcome children after school.
This didn't happen by accident.
A faithful Good News Club coordinator from a local church, who already leads teams serving in two other elementary schools, has spent the past year building relationships, praying, and preparing for this opportunity. His heart has been simple: every child in his community deserves the opportunity to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
When asked why he was willing to begin a third club—even before knowing where all the volunteers would come from—he shared a picture that has stayed with us:
"If you're praying for rain, then in faith you need to go prepare the soil to receive it."
That is exactly what he has done.
He is stepping out in faith, trusting that as God opens another school, He will also raise up the workers needed—not only to continue serving in the two existing Good News Clubs, but also to faithfully serve at Oak Hill Elementary.
What an incredible reminder that faith is more than waiting; faith prepares for what God is going to do.
As we begin another school year, this story challenges each of us. We have the privilege of partnering with God as He works in the hearts of children throughout our community. Every volunteer who teaches a Bible lesson, listens to a memory verse, leads a game, welcomes a child, or simply shows up each week is helping plant seeds that can change a life for eternity.

Pray for Oak Hill Elementary's first-ever Good News Club and that the thousands of other boys and girls will hear the Gospel, trust in Jesus as Savior, and become rooted in God's Word.
Pray that God will raise up church partners and labors to start and sustain a Good News Club in all of 107 of the public schools in our counties.
